DXR‑8, DXR‑8 PRO, and DXR‑8 PRO SS are all secure, non‑WiFi video baby monitors with interchangeable lenses and remote pan‑tilt‑zoom. DXR‑8 is the original, compact model with a 3.5″ screen.
DXR‑8 PRO upgrades to a larger 5″ HD display, clearer night vision, longer range, a more robust private connection, and Active Noise Reduction to reduce constant background sounds like fans or heaters.
DXR‑8 PRO SS includes every PRO feature and further adds Split Screen and Simultaneous Dual Audio, letting you view two rooms side‑by‑side and hear both audio feeds at the same time on a single monitor unit.
Active Noise Reduction works to reduce loud background noises so you can hear your baby more clearly through the monitor. This is an essential feature for parents who use items such as fans, air conditioners, and heaters in the baby’s room who value their peace and quiet but want to ensure the safety of their baby.
The DXR‑8 and DXR‑8 PRO series use different hardware designs and operate on different closed, non‑Wi‑Fi systems, so their cameras, monitor units, and accessories are not interchangeable. The DXR‑8 monitor cannot pair with DXR‑8 PRO or DXR‑8 PRO SS cameras, and vice versa.
However, DXR‑8 PRO and DXR‑8 PRO SS are fully compatible with each other. DXR‑8 PRO SS monitor unit can connect to DXR‑8 PRO cameras, allowing customers to upgrade to DXR‑8 PRO SS while continuing to use their existing DXR‑8 PRO cameras.
